The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club Charles Dickens Books
I read this book every couple of years or so. Mr. Pickwick, Sam, Tupman, Winkle, Snodgrass--all have become great friends. If you have not read it, don't give up after the first chapter or two. Dickens really gets going about a quarter of the way through the book. By the end, you don't want it to stop. This is funny, gently satirical, heart-warming. And this edition is well-worth the $.99 I paid--other digital editions leave things out! Five stars.Product details

The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club Charles Dickens Books Reviews
This is so much better than any free edition, which will most likely be rife with errors. .99 is worth the formatting and spell check. Buy this edition of the delightful and funny classic.
This book describes travelling in the Victorian era. There are a couple of sad parts in it, but most of it tells about the travel, hotels, and modes of transportation of that era. The book is a travel log of 4 members of the Pickwick club. It is a fun book.
I had read many good things about this book, and generally I love Charles Dickens. However, I did not like this particular work as much as some others that have a more dramatic or dark tone. Besides, I have only read about 50% of this collection of serial incidents.
Its an old maniscript and practically unreadable. I bought it for my 11 year old granddaughter and its a shame that she can't enjoy it.
Dickens's first book and it's wild--like a prequel to the Hangover. The Pickwickians are either drunk or confused, they end up in the random, improbable places and eat and drink themselves silly. Reading this book, you watch Dickens mature as a writer and a man. It might be silly, but his attacks on pretension in politics and society are spot on and savage. Dickens is young, confident, and thrilled by what he can do. You can almost hear him laughing as he writes it.
